My Hero..My Soldier..My Daddy

Last week I had the opportunity to take pictures of a little boy that is 3 years old. This little boy hasn't had the life of a normal child, because his Daddy wasn't always around due to being a soldier in the Army. His Daddy missed all his "firsts" because he was fighting for our freedom. Take a look at all those daddies out there that are away from their families, children, and loved ones to do something like that for us. We often take things for granted and not realize what they are having to give up. Not only are they putting themselves in harms way, but missing important "milestones" in their family's life.

Wanting to do something neat and special with this family, I decided 20 minutes before my photo shoot that I wanted to paint a sign that said "My Hero..My Soldier..My Daddy." Being rushed for time, I had decided not too, but shortly later talked myself into it. I thought that was the least I could do, was to make this photo shoot as "special" as possible. The sign was painted, blow-dried (because remember I did this only 20 minutes before my shoot), and put together in less than 20 minutes! :)

Keep this family in your prayers as they are still separated....the mom and the little boy here and the Daddy in another state. Thank God for what all the soldiers do..not only fighting for our freedom...but for the countless hours they are away from their family.  This photo session was very special to me and I am blessed I was able to capture these special moments for you! :)

  3. Devin, you did an awesome job with these photos, and the sign was PERFECT!! You really got to me with what you said, all of it so true. I am so proud of Justin for what he does, but it just hurts me so much to see Ethan talk to his daddy on the phone and see and hear how much they miss each other! Thank you for these wonderful photos of "mini Justin". They, like him and his parents, are priceless to me!
By the way, thank you for the prayer requests. Justin should be home and back with his family PERMANENTLY!!!! in early February!!!!! Praise GOD!!! I love my country and I support our troops no matter where they are, but I will be so happy to see this one come home finally for good!
I pray that God richly blesses you this coming year Devin and I have a feeling (faith) that he will. You are a special young lady and if anyone who doesn't know you ever wants a reference, give them my number!!!
